This piano programme offers students at any age the chance to explore the piano through lessons tailored to their individual pace and goals. Whether beginning a musical journey or deepening existing skills, learners focus primarily on mastering the instrument, with only as much theory—such as notation and solfeggio—as needed to support their playing. The programme emphasises efficient learning, encouraging students to develop strong fundamentals from the outset. Concerts at the end of each semester offer opportunities to perform, connect with the musical community, and celebrate progress. For those who wish to pursue formal credentials, exam preparation is also available through national music school certification. Lessons are typically held once per week for beginners.
Founded and led by pianist Nace Slak, this piano school is located in the centre of Ljubljana, at Šubičeva 3. Nace, recognised as one of Slovenia’s most promising young pianists, brings both performance experience and a thoughtful teaching philosophy to his work. He believes that musical expression is a form of freedom and that high-quality musical education is most critical in its early stages—shaping not just technical skill, but a lifelong connection with creativity and discipline.
In line with this vision, the school prioritises practical, efficient instruction over rote learning. While formal grading isn’t compulsory, students regularly showcase their progress in semester-end concerts, fostering community engagement and personal growth. For those interested, preparation for official exams at national music schools is offered. Lessons take place one-on-one in Nace’s studio at a cadence suited to the student’s level—typically once a week for beginners, increasing to twice weekly for more experienced learners.
Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis.
The registration form is merely to show your interest in a slot, however it is up to the provider to confirm the slot. Pricing is €35 for 45 minutes lesson, with payment made directly to the provider.
Lessons are not at ESLJ - although in exceptional circumstances, this may be arranged with the provider.
