English Language Theatre

Our Clay Theatre Acting Course is a fun, supportive, and creative program designed to build confidence, social skills, and a love for performance through playful and professional acting techniques. Throughout the course, participants will:

• Explore body movement and storytelling
• Enhance English speaking skills
• Boost confidence on and off stage
• Improve writing skills through writing stories
• Develop vocal clarity through professional vocal exercises
• Learn how to express thoughts and a range of emotions for better communication skills
• Play group games that spark imagination and encourage collaboration
• Make their own costumes & props (creative, hands-on fun!)
• Build real stage skills while having fun

Perform in the final performance on the Clay Theatre stage (Vilharjeva cesta 3, 1000Ljubljana) in front of family and friends.

No previous acting experience is required.

PROPOSED PLAY: “The Bremen Town Musicians” by The Brothers Grimm, based on the account of the German storyteller Dorothea Viehmann.
It tells the story of four ageing domestic animals, who after a lifetime of hard work are neglected and mistreated by their former masters. Eventually, they decide to run away and become town musicians in the city of Bremen. Contrary to the story's title, the characters never arrive in Bremen, as they succeed in tricking and scaring off a band of robbers, capturing their spoils, and moving into their house. It is a story of Aarne–Thompson Type 130 ("Outcast animals find a new home”). 

Course Provider

Clay Theatre is located in the heart of Ljubljana, within a ceramic studio. During the day, clay artworks take shape here, but in the evening, the space transforms into a theatre.

The project is founded by artist Rasfan Haval. Our mission is to foster a vibrant community of artists, weave global connections, and celebrate diversity through art - all within the unique atmosphere of an artistic studio.

At Clay Theatre, we invite individuals from all artistic backgrounds to join our warm and inclusive community. Our audience includes a broad spectrum of open-minded individuals, both locals and foreigners residing in Slovenia, who appreciate a dynamic and alternative cultural scene.
